Abstract
Background : One of the weaknesses of health services in the implementation of referrals that are less rapid and precise. This is an unresolved problem in our health system, because the nurse is part of the health worker conducting the referral. Of course this is not only financially harmful but also will affect the quality of health services and will affect the achievement of health performance.
Objectives : Analyze the relationship of nurse consent on referral system procedure with referral implementation at Gunung Maria Tomohon hospital
Research Methods: This research uses descriptive correlation research method. The total sample is 54 respondents with sampling technique using the purpose sampling technique. Research instrument using multiple choice quetionnaire.
Results: Bivariate analysis shows p Value = 0,004 (p < 0,05) there is a significant relationship between nurses knowledge about referral system with the implementation of referral, with the conclusion that the higher level of knowledge a nurse has, the higher rhe succes of referral implementation in accordance with the standard opening procedure of referral system. On the contrary, the lower the nurse’s knowledge about the operational standard of referral system procedure hence the low success of refferal implementation.
Conclusion: Most nurses have insufficient knowledge as well as execution that does not conform to the operational standards of referral system procedures.
