Abstract
Tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors at the moment. There are several reasons why tourists want to travel, but one of them is because of tourist attractions, which are an attraction for tourists to visit a tourist site. In Laikit and Desa Dimembe Villages, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Indonesia has tourist attractions that are not yet well known to the public. This tourist attraction is called the Dumia Umbanua Culture. The research entitled "The Potential and Strategy for the Development of Dumia Umbanua Culture as Tourist Attraction in North Minahasa Regency," has the formulation of what is the potential of Dumia Umbanua so that it can become a tourist attraction, and how to develop appropriate strategies for introducing umbanua world cultural tourism. The purpose of this research is to explore the potential and know the strategies that can be applied to introduce Dumia Umbanua cultural tourism. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This means that the data collected comes from interviews, personal documents, notes, or memos of researchers and other official documents that support. The researcher found the Potential of Dumia Umbanua Culture, a cultural heritage that has existed since ancient times, with a series of activities offered ranging from rituals that use the language of the Tonsea region to pig slaughter and mystical things that occur during the ritual process. Become an attraction for tourists to visit, so this Culture has the opportunity to be developed as well as to introduce the culture of the Tonsea both in terms of attractions and annual events in North Minahasa Regency. As for the strategy of developing Dumia Umbanua Culture through SWOT analysis are the most suitable strategy for developing this culture include the S-O Strengths Opportunities strategy, a strategy that optimizes strength by taking advantage of opportunities very ideal for this research considering this research is the first time it has been done. With the initial collaboration between the government and the culture management community so that it can optimize the development of Dumia Umbanua culture so that it can be in accordance with the North Minahasa District's Vision and Mission, considering that this culture has existed since ancient times so that it can be a support in developing culture this is to continue to be done and not forgotten.
