Abstract

As a financial institution that plays an important role in the economy of a country, the banking sector needs to maintain its performance. This study aims to assess the resilience of the banking sector against uncertain future situations by looking at the relationship between banking performance in Market Capitalization and banking performance variables such as ROA, ROE, NIM, CAR, LDR, and NPL. The samples in this study were 4 banks with the largest Market Capitalization in 2019, namely, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. The data is taken from the sample of the Annual Report for the period 2019 – 2021. Using the multiple linear regression method, it is found that: ROA, CAR, and NPL affect Market Capitalization positively, but ROE, NIM, and LDR affect Market Capitalization negatively. At alpha 0.05, ROA, ROE, and LDR have no significant effect on Market Capitalization, but NIM, CAR, and NPL have a significant effect. Simultaneous test shows that all independent variables affect the dependent variable.
