According to National Geographic Indonesia (2014) the prevalence of stroke in Indonesia was 12.1 (mile per population) while North Sulawesi was the second highest stroke prevalence that is counted for 10,8 miles per population. This study aims to explore family’s perception of post-stroke patients care at Cardio Vascular and Brain Center Outpatient Installations at RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. This study was informed by Jean Watson’s caring theory of nursing. Themes resulted from this study revealed that Belief and Hope, Basic Needs Assistance, Compassionate Behavior, and Creative Solutions are the four important concepts in providing care by families with post stroke patient. These four themes are in accordance with Jean Watson’s caring theory of nursing. The four themes of this study concluded that family perception and support of post-stroke patient’s care was important to support post stroke patient’s home care. Therefore, results from this study might be used to promote heath education for post-stroke patient’s family at home. Furthermore, it is expected that these finding could be developed into an instrument used for quantitative studies.
